About World Youth Day San Antonio 2021

At World Youth Day San Antonio, young adults and their families will engage in service projects at the Guadalupe Community Center, and a prayerful self-guided pilgrimage to Assumption Seminary. Holy Hour with Adoration and Confession will be followed by Mass celebrated by Bishop Gary W. Janak. Our night will conclude with food and a movie screening of “For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada ”, and a Q&A discussion reflecting on the day’s events.

About the Service Projects
When you sign-up to participate in World Youth Day San Antonio, you will have the opportunity to start the day in service to our community. All service projects will be held at the Guadalupe Community Center (1801 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd., San Antonio, TX 78207 - Directions)

Caring for Creation (Gardening): Volunteers will assist in the community garden as they plant and maintain the vegetation that magnifies the beauty of God’s creation. |

Sheltering the Homeless (Painting): Volunteers will assist in painting areas in need around the Guadalupe Community Center to assist the center continue its work in providing help to address food insecurity, reduce poverty, and prevent homelessness. |

Feeding the Hungry (Thanksgiving Food Preparation): Volunteers will assist in preparing over 100 turkeys with trimmings for families in need so that they may celebrate a warm and nourishing meal on Thanksgiving. |

Sharing our Gifts (Christmas Project): Volunteers will assist in decorating the Community center with Christmas décor, including setting up Nativity scenes and Christmas lights. |
