Tuition Assistance - Hope for the Future
Since its inception in December 2006, Hope for the Future has awarded over $20 million in need-based tuition assistance funds to more than 16,000 students. Each year, however, children remain on the wait list – waiting for funding. This wait list motivates Hope for the Future staff, community leaders, and generous corporations and foundations to renew the commitment to achieve higher development goals.
It is estimated about 7,000 children are in need of tuition assistance to attend the Catholic school of their choice in the Archdiocese of San Antonio Catholic school community.
Our goal at Hope for the Future is to fund every deserving child whose family seeks the faith-filled and academically rigorous education at one of our Catholic schools. We raise funds through special events such as our annual Khaki & Plaid Gala and our upcoming Over the Edge event, as well as generous donations from businesses, alumni partners and individuals. We host the 5K Run With a Mission, a special annual event that raises money directly for the schools through participant registration at no cost to the schools. We also vigorously seek grants to provide schools with curriculum and technology. Through community partnership, we have been able to provide Pre-K playgrounds for 10 schools, and implement social emotional support curriculum, and Swim Safety curriculum. Hope for the Future also supports school leadership in the areas of grant writing, marketing, and communication.
