Two priests incardinated into archdiocese

Two priests were incardinated into the Archdiocese of San Antonio prior to the Clergy Day Zoom meeting February 22. Father Alejandro Ortega, parochial vicar of San Fernando Cathedral, and Father Rafael Duda, parochial vicar at Notre Dame Church in Kerrville, joined the archdiocesan presbyterate during a ceremony at the Pastoral Center’s St. Joseph Chapel.

Taking part in the service were Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS; Auxiliary Bishop Michael Boulette; Father Jim Fischler, CICM, vicar for Clergy; and Sister Jane Ann Slater, CDP, chancellor.

At the Clergy Day virtual gathering which followed, priests heard presentations regarding new Bishop-elect Gary Janak, updates on the Rite of Election ceremonies, severe weather updates and damage to buildings, discussions regarding Holy Week events, and information on the upcoming episcopal ordination.
