The Office of Appeals and Grants held the 2016 Archbishop’s Appeal Kickoff on Feb. 2 at the Pastoral Center

As the 2016 Archbishop’s Appeal began, all embarked on a bold effort to heed the call to discipleship by bringing hope to the lives of thousands of people in the Archdiocese of San Antonio through the 62 ministries and programs that will be funded by the 2016 Appeal.

The opportunity awaits to join the Appeal effort in taking it to new heights. Pray for the efforts of the good work being accomplished. To be a parish ambassador or for more information, call (210) 734-1604 or to view a video, visit

Letter from Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It has been truly extraordinary and inspiring to witness your generosity over the last four years since I have been your archbishop. While much of the church’s ministry takes place in our parishes, we also come together as an archdiocesan church to carry out critical services and ministries that have impact beyond any one parish. These efforts help us to accomplish our mission -- a mission of love that we can accomplish together, as 169 parishes and missions, rather than as individual parishes. For this reason, I am asking you to be United in Mission with me through the 2016 Archbishop’s Appeal.

How your gift can make a difference

God has given each one of us gifts, graces, talents and abilities that are to be shared responsibly and wisely with others. Stewardship is more than the occasional act of charity and service. It is the way we live our lives, the commitment we give of our time, talent and treasure in thanksgiving for all the blessings we have received. Though we are made up of many faithful from parishes across our archdiocese, we are one spiritual community, United in Mission, doing our best to work in this vineyard so that it bears fruit to nourish the faith of our families, our friends and our neighbors.

Archbishop's Appeal parish recognitions

In 2015, thanks to the generosity of Appeal donors and the hard work of pastors and appeal coordinators were able to meet the $4.5 million goal and fully fund the ministries supported by the 2015 Appeal. In sincerest thanks to all donors and all parishes, we would like to recognize these parishes for their best practices in growing the Archbishop's Appeal.
