Statement of Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, concerning the death of the Rev. Billy Graham

I am saddened to learn of the death this morning of famed evangelist, the Rev. Billy Graham, at the age of 99. He was tireless in his devotion to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to every corner of the globe. Rev. Graham preached to almost a quarter of a million people during a revival in the Alamodome in San Antonio in 1997, and he reached out to the Catholic community to make sure that this was an ecumenical endeavor. Auxiliary Bishop Thomas Flanagan from the archdiocese was deeply involved in the gathering. Well done, good and faithful servant, and may God bless you
