St. Anthony senior signs to play baseball at Stephen F. Austin
St. Anthony Catholic High School (SACHS) held a press conference Nov. 12 for senior Henry Sanchez who signed a letter of intent to play Division 1 baseball at Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches.
Sanchez, a three year All-District selection at second base and short stop, was the unanimous All-District Selection, All-State Selection and was named to the Academic All-State team in 2014. He was selected Newcomer of the Year in 2012 and MVP in 2013 and 2014. Sanchez was also a four year letterman in football and named an All District Selection in 2012 and 2013 as a Running Back and Linebacker. He was also selected as a member of the junior USA Football team in 2012.
“Henry is an outstanding athlete and a great student but more importantly is a wonderful person. I have full confidence that he will succeed in college both on and off the field,ā said SACHS Principal Rene Escobedo.
Sanchez is a native of McAllen and is the son of Henry and Lorraine Sanchez.
