Khaki and Plaid Gala largest event to support Catholic school education

SAN ANTONIO ā€“ The Sixth Annual Khaki & Plaid Gala, Homecoming 2015, benefiting Hope for the Future (HOPE), is the San Antonio Catholic event in a city steeped in faith and tradition. With a record 1,100 guests expected, the evening will be filled with local business leaders, celebrities and supporters of Catholic school education. Proceeds from the event are used to provide tuition assistance to economically disadvantaged families so they can attend a Catholic school of their choice.

Chaired by Dave and Judy Rettinger along with Honorary Chairs Frank and Cathy Burzik, the event will culminate in the crowning of the Homecoming King & Queen at the end of the evening.

The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

Recognizing the need to market and bring in greater funds to Catholic schools for operations, the Archdiocese created HOPE in December 2006. HOPE receives donations from many generous contributors, and annually helps economically disadvantaged children by providing tuition assistance. For the 2014-15 school year HOPE is providing $2.2 million in tuition assistance to families in need. HOPE received over 3,000 applications from families in the Archdiocese of San Antonio requesting tuition assistance for the current school year
