High-quality, nursing and rehab facility established in growing Westover Hills community

Cantex Continuing Care Network and their partner in health, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System, have announced Windemere at Westover Hills, a transitional care center licensed as a skilled nursing facility located on the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital — Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) campus.

Ground breaking for Windemere at Westover Hills took place April 21, and the project is expected to be completed and open by end of first quarter 2016.

ā€œWe canā€™t think of a more perfect fit for this community and for our hospitalā€™s campus,ā€ said Jeff Bourgeois, president and administrator of CSRH – WH.

ā€œCHRISTUS Santa Rosa is dedicated to growing and improving the quality of care for the residents in the Westover Hills area and beyond. The addition of a skilled nursing facility on the Westover Hills campus means that care and compassion will continue literally next door to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital ā€“ Westover Hills,ā€ Bourgeois added.

Windemere at Westover Hills will be a 63,956 square-foot post-acute transitional care and rehabilitation center, providing patient-centered, advanced therapy and medical services.

The one-story facility will provide 96 private occupancy suites and eight semi-private suites, for a total of 104 suites with 112 beds overall. All suites will include a private bath/shower, writing desk, recliner, flat-screen television, electric beds, and a kitchenette complete with microwave and small refrigerator. Some will offer private patios and courtyard access.

ā€œThe development of a low-density post-acute care facility in this area is an excellent addition to this thriving spectrum of care and further complements patient options,ā€ said Cantex CEO Robin Underhill. ā€œCantex has become a highly regarded and experienced health care provider across Texas, and we are very pleased to continue our commitment to expanding our continuum of care in this community.ā€

Windemere at Westover Hills will also include Wi-Fi Internet access, two courtyards, a chapel, library, complimentary barber/beauty services, restaurant-style dining, and a living room with a player grand piano. A large rehabilitation center will include separate porte-cocheres for out-patient access and will be staffed by an in-house therapy team including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.

ā€œWe are thrilled that Windemere at Westover Hills will be located on the campus of yet another CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital,ā€ Underhill added. ā€œAt the same time, the beautifully landscaped and relaxing environment of Windemere at Westover Hills supports our mission of improving our patientsā€™ health and quality of life.ā€

The development of Windemere at Westover Hills will be the third facility for Cantex in the local market. This property joins Coronado in the Stone Oak community and Sorrento in the South Texas Medical Center.

Jim Wesson, president and administrator of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital ā€“ New Braunfels, expressed his enthusiasm for the addition to the Westover Hills campus, too.

ā€œThis is just another example of CHRISTUS Santa Rosaā€™s commitment to the communities we are privileged to serve.   I am so glad to be part of a ministry that is improving the health and wellbeing of our communities, not only locally in New Braunfels, but in other parts of our central Texas as well,ā€ said Wesson.

ā€œIā€™m sure Cantex will join Jeff and the team at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital ā€“ Westover Hills in doing a great job providing quality, compassionate care and serving the community of Westover Hills,ā€ he said.
