Great things are happening at St. James

St. James the Apostle Catholic School students participated in the grand opening ceremony of the H-E-B Nogalitos Store 4 on Jan. 1. Fifty of the fourth and fifth grade students showcased their new T-shirts designed especially for this event. The T-shirts had patriotic colors and read “H-E-B and St. James are Buddies”! HEB has partnered with St. James and has supported some of its recent community events.

The students sang the Star Spangled Banner as the neighborhood H-E-B opened its doors and the pastor of St. James, Father Joseph Kandeor, also joined and offered a blessing upon the store.

After the opening festivities, which included words of welcome, a brief historical background, and the blessing, the students were treated to a tour. The community was well represented by families, customers, and representatives of H-E-B. Attendees enjoyed free treats and got to walk on the brand new travelator.
