Future UIW Cardinal gets All-Star invite

St. Anthony Catholic High School (SACHS) Yellow Jacket Bella Sanchez was selected as one of just 50 of the top high school softball players in the greater San Antonio area to take part to take part in the inaugural 4 Heroes High School All-Star Game. The game took place at St. Mary’s University June 4. All proceeds benefitted two local charities, the San Antonio Firefighters Benevolent Fund and Women Veterans of San Antonio.

Sanchez received all-state honors in softball where she led SACHS in batting average, hits, RBI’s, and home runs in both her junior and senior years. Sanchez was also an all-state star in volleyball and basketball, but it is in softball where she has committed to continue her on-field career at the University of the Incarnate Word.

“Bella is an outstanding softball player and a tremendous multi-sport athlete,” says Ed McCabe, SACHS athletic director. “She exemplifies what St. Anthony Catholic High School strives for in all our graduates. We are proud to have her represent our school at this game and when she continues her playing career at UIW.”

The 4 Heroes High School All-Star Game was presented by the 4 The Heroes Foundation. Formed in 2013, the foundation works to support local charities who support military veterans and first responders. The game was sponsored by Easton Sports, Black Star Athletics, 5 Tool Sports and many others.
