Following graduation from DePaul Hospital School of Nursing in 1975, Father Kevin, a Vincentian priest, worked as a registered nurse until 1982.

He entered the seminary in 1982 and was ordained in 1991, receiving his Master of Divinity Degree in Theology, Certificate in Spiritual Direction and Certificate in Youth Ministry from St. Thomas Theological Seminary in Denver. His first assignment was at St. Fidelis in Chicago for two years. He then served as pastor of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Perryville, Mo., for 14 years (his home parish) and administrator of St. Vincent High School before taking a sabbatical in San Antonio.

After spending time at the North American College in Rome, Father Kevin returned to San Antonio in April 2008 and was named pastor of Holy Redeemer Parish and appointed priest administrator for St. Gerard Catholic High School for the school year 2009-2010.

He is presently dean of the Central Urban Deanery for the Archdiocese of San Antonio and chair of the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council and serves on the College of Consultors. Father Kevin has worked to develop programs to serve the poor on the East Side. Working with local schools, Holy Redeemer has provided mobile food pantries and food giveaways in collaboration with the San Antonio Food Bank to serve families in need. Holy Redeemer has partnered with Catholic Charities and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital to provide Community Wellness and Resource Fairs for the East Side. Every Tuesday, a noon meal is served to adults in the parish hall. Working with Catholic Charities, classes in parenting have been established at Holy Redeemer to provide parenting classes and programs for the local community. He is currently serving on a Neighborhood Advisory Committee for Crosspoint. This is a transitional housing program for individuals re-entering society following incarceration. He is a member of the SAGE Board.

As spiritual advisor for the archdiocesan Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Father Kevin provides spiritual direction and guidance for the Board. Besides their many outreach programs that serve people of all faiths throughout the archdiocese, they currently provide all the meals at Prospect Courtyard at Haven for Hope.

The ACTS-HIV Community has found a home at Holy Redeemer also. Through the ministry of Father Kevin as spiritual advisor, this ministry that serves those infected, or effected by HIV-AIDS continues to reach out and provide retreats, support groups, spiritual development and socialization.

Father Kevin ministers to the community at Our Lady of the Lake University as chaplain. Through his chaplaincy at the university, he is able to interact, support and care for the students, faculty and staff.
