Catholic Charities distributes turkey boxes, celebrates archbishop on 10th anniversary

More than 300 families from Catholic Charities’ Guadalupe Community Center, St. Stephen’s CARE Center, Senior Services, Family and Children’s Services, Caritas Legal Services, and the community received 40-pound boxes of food curbside that included turkeys with all of the trimmings to feed a family during the Thanksgiving holiday.

The RK Group, RK Cares, WellMed Health Care, and Gonzaba Medical Group all provided items which were distributed at the Guadalupe Community Center on November 23.

Adult volunteers also delivered boxes to the homes of seniors in the Adopt-A-Senior program. Archibishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, joined staff and volunteers to serve the community on his 10th anniversary as archbishop blessing the food and distributing boxes to the community.

Catholic Charities’ President/CEO J. Antonio Fernandez, said, “This year has been a tough one for our families. We are pleased to come together to feed our children, our families, and our seniors in a season that celebrates gratitude and faith. And on the day of his anniversary as an archbishop, we are so grateful to have Archbishop Gustavo serving with us on his anniversary and guiding us along the way.”
