Catholic Charities deploys Adopt-A-Senior volunteers for Christmas

Fifty volunteers prepared to reach 120 isolated seniors and delivered basic needs and holiday care packages to their homes on December 11.

Catholic Charities, The Gonzaba Foundation, Silver Sabbath, Adult Protective Services, staff, and volunteers partnered to visit isolated seniors, in the safety of their homes, with food and care packages to offer love and joy during the holiday season. Twenty-two pounds of food were in each food package to sustain their bodies while volunteers visit in a meaningful way to nourish their spirits.

Catholic Charities’ President/CEO J. Antonio Fernández said, “Catholic Charities is able to reach our neighbors in their homes with the help of our partners, staff, and volunteers. The holiday season can be both a time of great joy, but also sadness as some battle loneliness. We owe it to our seniors to work together to visit them, appreciate them, and provide for them after all they have contributed to our community their whole lives.”
