“Thankful for Today, Thriving Tomorrow,” was the theme of a gathering held in person and virtually by all 38 Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of San Antonio on October 7 that launched a campaign to raise awareness of the value and needs of Catholic schools.

I was born and raised in San Antonio. My whole life I was involved in the Church. I helped with handing out hymnals, ushering, and altar serving from a young age. I always found myself going to Church functions outside of just Sunday Mass, typically because my parents would drag my three older brothers and I to them.

Relying on the mercy of God, who has been with us throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, at the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, presented a pastoral letter, Transformed by Hope, Let Us Rebuild Our Tomorrow!, to all the people of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The archbishop promulgated the document at a Mass September 14 at San Fernando Cathedral attended by ministry representatives from various institutions in the archdiocese, primarily educational entities.
