Spring is in the air and that mean Fiesta is around the corner. Hope for the Future and the Department of Catholic Schools have teamed up to host a float in the Battle of Flowers parade on Friday, April 24. This is the second year participating in the Battle of Flowers parade and has started a tradition that will hopefully last for many years.

The float, designed by director of enrichment programs, Veronica Montalvo, has a ā€˜Catholic Schools Teach with a Missionā€™ theme. The colorful float depicts some of the cityā€™s oldest churches, the San Antonio Missions. The rear of the float includes a stunning Church front with a stained glass embellishment, a banner with ā€˜Hope for the Futureā€™ written across and the emphatic statement ā€˜We are Catholic School Educationā€™.

The float will feature Catholic school students, recently crowned Khaki & Plaid King and Queen, Fr. Eric Ritter and Diana Barrios-Trevino, along with other religious men women. Walking along side the float will be cheerleaders from area Catholic schools.
The Battle of Flowers parade anticipates 350,000 Fiesta goers and thousands more watching on television.

We are excited to be a part of the parade again and look forward to seeing the smiling faces in the crowd as the Catholic schools float drives by.
