Assembly looks at challenges of ministry in midst of COVID-19

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, was the concelebrant at the opening Mass of the 2020 Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Assembly held October 19 in Austin. Presider at the liturgy was Bishop Joe Vasquez of the Diocese of Austin. The other concelebrant was Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Among other attendees at the Assembly were Auxiliary Bishop Michael Boulette and Bishop Emeritus Michael Pfeifer of the Diocese of San Angelo. The meeting gathers together senior leadership of dioceses around the state, and topics this year focused on ministry during the coronavirus pandemic, development efforts, and Catholic schools.
