Archdiocese introduces third-party reporting system for ethics violations

The Archdiocese of San Antonio has implemented EthicsPoint, a confidential, anonymous and third-party system, exclusively for the reporting of misconduct and ethics violations in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

This is web based and has a toll-free hotline to make a report. This confidential system is hosted on secured servers at the EthicsPoint facility and is not connected to the Archdiocese of San Antonio website or intranet system.

Representatives at EthicsPoint have been specifically trained to interact with individuals reporting misconduct. If any allegation is received against an employee, the report is not distributed to them.

The Archdiocese of Boston and the Archdiocese of Baltimore also use the EthicsPoint system.

“The Archdiocese of San Antonio is committed to an environment where open, honest communications are the expectation, not the exception,” states information on the EthicsPoint website cover page for the archdiocese. “We want you to feel comfortable in approaching the archdiocese in stances where you believe Code of Conduct violations have occurred.”

More information can be found at http://archsa.ethicspoint.com. In addition, the Code of Conduct can be found on the archdiocesan website at www.archsa.org under “Resources.”
