Archbishop Gustavo urges prayers for those impacted by Hurricane Irma

I, and the people of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, offer our prayers and condolences to those who are being effected by the devastation from Hurricane Irma, which struck landfall in Florida yesterday.This hurricane has caused much destruction and many deaths throughout the Caribbean and the islands of Puerto Rico and Cuba. We here in Texas are still coping with the aftermath of the disastrous consequences of Hurricane Harvey, and we join in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in the southeast United States at this troubling time. Just as the people from across the country pledged their support and assistance to us in our time of need, we do the same in union as one body of Christ, one people of God. May Mary our Mother hear our prayers and give us comfort in our times of trial.
