Antonian College Preparatory High School Appoints Vice Principals and Director of Admissions

SAN ANTONIO - Tim Petersen, Principal of Antonian College Preparatory, is pleased to announce the promotions of Mrs. Diann Montemayor and Mr. Fernando Ruiz to Assistant Principals at Antonian College Preparatory High School. Prior to their advancement to Assistant Principals, Montemayor served as the school's Dean of of Admissions, and Ruiz held the position of Dean of Curriculum and Instruction. Petersen was pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Lisa Rosenfeld to assume the position of Director of Admissions. Mrs. Rosenfeld will assume the duties formerly held by Mrs. Diann Montemayor, who was recently promoted to an Assistant Principal position. Prior to joining Antonian, Mrs. Rosenfeld served in an administrative capacity at Holy Spirit Catholic School in San Antonio, most recently as the school’s Dean of Admissions.

Montemayor earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Montemayor went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Catholic School Leadership from St. Mary’s University. She began her career at Antonian in 2004 as Director of Development, Communications, and Alumni Relations. In 2006, she became the Dean of Admissions responsible for recruiting freshmen and transfer students. In each of her leadership roles, she has brought passion for Catholic education and the Antonian community. Her history with Antonian began long before her career. A graduate of Ursuline Academy, Montemayor went on to marry Chuck Montemayor (Antonian Class of 1984), and they have two children, Robin (Antonian class of 2015) and Drew (Antonian class of 2019).

“Mrs. Montemayor has a strong record of success in every position she has held. She has natural leadership ability, a passion for Catholic education, and a comprehensive understanding of the Antonian community. I expect great things,” said Petersen.

Ruiz has a solid understanding of the rigor of a Catholic school education. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from St. Mary’s University and went on to obtain a Master of Curriculum and Instruction from Our Lady of the Lake University. Ruiz came to Antonian in 2012 as the school’s Dean of Curriculum and Instruction. He brought an in-depth understanding of curriculum needs, having served as District Curriculum Specialist for the Edgewood Independent School District from 2006 to 2012 and Regional Curriculum Specialist for South Texas Rural Systemic Initiative from 2001 to 2006.

Petersen said, “Fernando’s understanding of quality instruction and his experience with curriculum development have already had a positive impact on Antonian. In his new role as Assistant Principal, we can expect an even greater impact.” Petersen believes that this implementation of the new administrative structure will bring a new era of collaborative leadership that will serve Antonian well.

Rosenfeld is a graduate of Texas Christian University, having earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance degree. She began her professional career in the banking industry, working first for First National Bank of Chicago and later, Bank of America. After a period of time in which she stayed home to raise her three children, Rosenfeld resumed her professional career in 2003, joining Holy Spirit Catholic School at that time. Since then, she and her husband, Phil, have been active members in parish life, particularly with the Adult and Teen ACTS Community at Holy Spirit. As a product of Catholic schooling and a 2013 recipient of the Archdiocesan Outstanding Leader in Education Award, she brings a strong faith and a passion for Catholic education to her new role at Antonian.

“We are tremendously excited to have Mrs. Rosenfeld join our staff,” said Petersen. “With three children who are Apaches, she is already an active member of the Antonian family and we look forward to more formally sharing in the enthusiasm she has for our school.”

Please join us as we congratulate Mrs. Diann Montemayor, Mr. Fernando Ruiz and Mrs. Lisa Rosenfeld.
