​Baylor College of Medicine expands residency program to San Antonio

Ten medical students from across the nation learned today March 20 they have been chosen to be part of the inaugural Baylor College of Medicine’s pediatric residency program based at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio. The event, called “Match Day,” is the culmination of the annual National Residents Matching Program, which pairs fourth-year medical students with residency programs throughout the nation.

Catholic Charities will be hosting their first Wellness & Community Resource Fair of 2015 in the heart of the Eastside Promise Neighborhood. This event is free and open to individuals of all ages. The purpose of this event is for the community to come together and promote general health and well-being. There will be free health screenings for blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and BMI, eye exams, mammograms, cooking demos,healthy snacks and beverages, live music and door prizes. Since March is National Nutrition Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, this event will feature information on healthy eating and preventative health screening as well as representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
