In response to the destruction caused by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and earthquakes in Mexico, Catholics across the United States have contributed nearly $59 million to relief and recovery efforts. Initiated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), special collections and funds were launched last year to support humanitarian relief efforts as well as to provide pastoral services and financial support to rebuild facilities in dioceses impacted by these disasters.

St. Leo the Great Catholic School to close its doors at the end of the 2017-2018 school year

St. Leo the Great Catholic School will permanently close its doors at the end of this 2017-2018 school year and not re-open for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year due to declining enrollment and financial challenges. A meeting was held with parents and staff at the school on Thursday, May 17, at 6 p.m., to discuss plans moving forward for the students and personnel there.
