“I just did it because I loved doing it,” says Audrey Schroeder of her 42-year career in youth ministry, a twinkle in her eye. This past weekend she was recognized by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) at their conference here in San Antonio for her significant contribution as an outstanding model of service and “keeper of the vision” for youth ministry, one of eight so honored nationally.

A locally produced and filmed feature film, David Kauffman’s The One I Wrote For You, has a very good chance of making the big time — mirroring the film’s protagonist, Ben Cantor (Cheyenne Jackson of Glee), who is poised to capture national fame as a singer/songwriter in a reality TV competition. The film’s chance to grab the brass ring of national distribution all depends on a strong turn-out for its opening days in cities throughout Texas, with the countdown starting.
