What Happened Last Month at Theology on Tap
In January, we had the privilege of welcoming Peter J. Ductrám, Director of the Academy for Lay Ecclesial Ministry. Peter spoke on the method of Communal Discernment, a method that has been used from the very beginning of the history of the Church. He spoke about the importance of synodality in this method as a means to face questions that are in people’s minds head-on, for example, regarding the crisis the Church is currently facing.
Luke, in the Acts of the Apostles, retells the story of how the Early Church faced a crisis that led to the First Council of Jerusalem. Paul and Barnabas met with the leaders of the Church to discern about the challenges implied in the conversion of those who were not Jews.
Emphasizing the importance of community, Theology on Tap begins with a profound presentation from an inspiring speaker, followed by a faith-based discussion intended for dialogue with our neighbor and also for personal reflection. We hope to see you at a future event!
