Financial Assistance for Catechetical and Formation Equipment

IMPORTANT NOTE: Thank you for your interest in updating parish formation programming. Unfortunately, Archbishop's Appeal Funding for Catechetical Resources and Formation Equipment has been depleted for 2021. Registration will reopen mid-January 2022. For more information, please contact Jazmin Villamil by email or call 210-734-1650.

Thank you for your interest in the Financial Assistance program for catechetical and formation equipment. A parish may apply for assistance for Catechetical or Formation resources once per year (with the exception of catechetical text series, for which a parish is eligible once every three years). Funding is awarded based on parish need. The balance is the responsibility of the parish. Please DO NOT include any shipping/handling in the funding request as these are not payable by the AA grant that makes this fund possible. Even when accepted, an application is not funded 100%. The parish will be expected to assist with the funding for the resource. Eligible categories of catechetical/formation materials are listed below. Only one piece of equipment per category (laptop, screen, etc.) is eligible for funding per application. If your application is approved, this fund will contribute a portion of the cost of your catechetical and formation needs.

Please recognize that priority approval will be considered for rural parishes and parishes in the Central Urban Deanery, Western Urban Deanery, Southwest Urban Deanery, Southeast Urban Deanery, and Northwest Urban Deanery. Certain parishes in other deaneries may also be eligible.

How do I receive financial assistance?

After receiving approval from your pastor, complete the application, make your selection(s) of resources and/or equipment and submit.

You will be notified of the approval status of your application in writing within one month of the submission date. If approved, you will also be informed of the amount to be awarded with a voucher via email.

You will confirm receipt of the award voucher via email.

The approved resources and/or equipment will be ordered by the Archdiocese and sent directly to the Catechetical Leader or Contact Person designated in the application at the parish address along with the invoice. If textbooks are approved, the order should be placed with the publisher.

Once the invoice for the resources and/or equipment is paid by the parish, please scan the invoice and the receipt and send to [email protected] or mail a copy (not the original) to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, c/o Jazmin Villamil, 2718 W. Woodlawn, SA, TX, 78228.

The parish will then be reimbursed by check for the resources and/or equipment in the amount of the AA grant award.

Shipping and Handling costs are not payable by the AA grant. Invoices must be received by the Archdiocese no later than 60 days from date of invoice, otherwise, the Archdiocese of San Antonio is not responsible for payment.
