Director of Religious Education- St. Helena Parish

St. Helena’s Faith Formation Department is seeking a qualified individual for the full-time position of Director of Religious Education.  The Director of Religious Education oversees the coordination and sacramental preparation of parish candidates of all ages, who attend the Parish Religious Education Program.  The primary responsibility of the Director/Coordinator of Religious Education is to administer (design, develop and direct) the Parish Religious Education Program.  He/she will act as the Coordinator of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for unbaptized adults (Coordinate celebration of Rites and instruction sessions).  

Applicants must be Roman Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church, he/she is a person of prayer who is committed to the authentic teaching of the Catholic faith, and possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.  Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of the Catholic Church teachings particularly in catechesis and have a minimum of three years of catechetical experience in the field.  Candidates must be certified level 2 catechists or working towards their certification and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Highly preferred qualifications include: Bilingual in English and Spanish and the ability to effectively communicate with and work with children, youth, volunteers, and parents.  This position will require some Saturday, Sunday, and evening hours.
