CONSECRATED LIFE

Communities

These are some of the communities of religious and consecrated life that share their charism with the Church here in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.

Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco

ā€œIt is enough that you are young for me to love you.ā€ – St. John Bosco

ā€œI want you to always be cheerful. Let us imitate our dear Jesus in everything, but especially in humility and love.ā€ – St. Mary Mazzarello

The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, also known as Salesian Sisters, are a religious community of women known for their dedication and commitment to educating youth of all ages, serving the poor, and assisting women at risk.

We live our charism in a family spirit, striving to be contemplatives in action as we joyfully live out our religious consecration in the style of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.

Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word

“Our Lord Jesus Christ, suffering in the persons of a multitude of the sick and infirm of every kind, seeks relief at your hands” – Claude Marie Dubuis, Founder

“Our Mission compels us to recommit ourselves to the poor and vulnerable, collaborating with individuals and organizations who share our values. We will assume the risk of a corporate and prophetic posture for justice, peace, and care for creation” ā€“ Congregational Directional Statement, 2014

“The foundation of our lives, spirituality, and ministry is the mystery of the Incarnation: that God in the person of Jesus Christ became human lives among us.”

We contemplate this deep mystery, aware that we are called to a deeper relationship with God through others.

Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate

The call of Jesus Christ, heard within the Church through peopleā€™s need for salvation, draws us together as Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Cooperating with the Savior and imitating his example, we commit ourselves principally to evangelizing the poor.

ā€œPractice well among yourselves charity, charity, charity, and outside, zeal for the salvation of souls.” – St. Eugene de Mazenod, Founder
