Deacon’s Walk 2017

When: Saturday, March 25 8am
(meet at the front of St.Anthony Church to St. Joseph Church downtown)

Your fellow parishioners invite you to join them in walking a part of the walk or all if able and willing to do so. If you are not able to walk, please support the walk by making a donation.

Purpose: To raise a roof on a hall in the parish of Sacred Heart of Hesus in Jakiri Cameroon Africa.

Need: In the village, dwells over 12,000 families with 80% Catholic. The hall will help the church in its service to the people.

History: In four years, the people despite poverty, have raised money and given their time to build a masonry building two stories tall. All that remains is a functioning roof.

Cost: The roof cost is $25,000. Based on what has been accomplished, it would take another 4-5 years to raise the roof.

Goal: To raise the funds and have the roof finished before the rainy season starts at the end of May and expected to last through October.
