The Archbishop’s Appeal (AA) was not designed to be a grant-making entity. Rather, it assists in funding the overall budget of the Archdiocese by providing the financial support of Catholic Ministries, Catholic Education, Social Service Ministries, and the formation of Priests and Deacons of the Archdiocese of San Antonio and providing services parishes cannot provide themselves. Along with other funding sources, the generosity and commitment of donors to the Archbishop’s Appeal allows Archbishop Gustavo and the dedicated staff of the Archdiocese to provide important services to our local community and our Universal Church.
The purpose of the Archbishop’s Appeal is to build sustainable financial health for the Archdiocese. Therefore, it is hoped that funding from the Archbishop’s Appeal will assist in the implementation of initiatives required to meet the goals of our priorities throughout the Archdiocese.
The goals of the Archbishop’s Appeal are to spread the gospel message, to serve the needs of the poor, and to move forward the initiatives of our archdiocesan strategic pastoral plan, which was discerned and drafted over the last two years with the input of the faithful across our archdiocese and which will benefit every congregation in our archdiocese.
