Archbishop's Appeal

2017 Archbishop’s Appeal Parish Recognition

To the Members of the Archdiocese of San Antonio,

Thank you!

Thank you, donors, to the Archbishop’s Appeal. Thanks to your compassion, more than 40 ministries have brought love to the poor, faith to the incarcerated, counsel to the medically and emotionally infirm, education to mothers who chose life for their babies, shelter for abandoned and neglected children, food for the hungry, clothing for the vulnerable, and assistance for the elderly.

Thank you because your generosity has helped parishes evangelize and provide faith formation within our communities. Your support has strengthened marriages and families, prepared catechists and laity for parish leadership roles, cared for our retired clergy, educated and prepared deacons and seminarians, and encouraged men and women discerning a call to the religious life.

Thank you because your gift will assist low-income families send their children to 39 Catholic schools. Your love for your Church has gone on to instill that same fire within future generations who, more than ever, need to carry the light of Christ and His truth. You have also sponsored events that provide further evangelization initiatives that increase and strengthen fellowship among our community’s young adults.

To the pastors and Appeal coordinators,
your vital role, communicating the Appeal’s message and purpose throughout your parishes ensures that our annual successes are truly a community effort.

All of us have come together and raised more than $4.7 million to fully fund ministries.
Our combined efforts as donors, pastors, coordinators, and volunteers have responded to the many needs and challenges facing our Church within the Archdiocese. To date, 106 parishes have made or exceeded their goals, an achievement which would be impossible without you. The Archbishop’s Appeal is truly a community effort, a charitable ministry in which we all have the opportunity to be blessings for each other, Christ’s hand and feet.

I, with His Excellency, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, the Office of the Archbishop’s Appeal, the 40 funded ministries, and thousands of clients, staff, volunteers, parishioners, and pastors thank you for your efforts during 2017. We look forward to continue our work as we strive together to be love in action. May God bless you all!

With gratitude,

Mrs. Cecile Montañez, Director
