Archbishop's Appeal

Allocation of Funds

The Archbishop, with the recommendation of the Archbishop’s Appeal Steering Committee, will make prudent decisions, to strengthen the good works of the ministries and agencies that minister to those most in need. The AA continues to support our children’s future by ensuring the availability of a Catholic education. It continues to sponsor ethnic ministries to reach our diverse communities, to assist those embarking on religious vocations, to provide religious education to our parish youth, to strengthen the faith of our young adults and to speak to our greater community about important social policy concerns.

Priority for funding is given to Pastoral Center Agencies, Catholic Social Services and other agencies and ministries listed in the Official Catholic Directory, especially those providing services aligned with the priorities and goals of the Archdiocesan Mutually Shared Vision.

A Steering Committee is selected by parish pastors within the fourteen deaneries of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. The Steering Committee reviews the funding requests and makes recommendations for funds. Prior use of funds is a major consideration for awarding funds. The Archbishop gives the final approval for how funds will be allocated.
