Office of Youth Ministry Mission

To help develop and empower youth and their leaders, as they seek to encounter and live as disciples of Jesus Christ in the life of their parish, and in our world today.

The Office of Youth Ministry (OYM) for the Archdiocese of San Antonio was founded in 1947. The OYM resources parishes, deaneries, and persons ministering to and with adolescents so as to empower leaders to develop and facilitate youth ministry. The OYM also assists the CYO Sports Program to carry out it’s Catholic mission. The goals of the Office of Youth Ministry in the Archdiocese are:

  • To form adult leaders in youth ministries and provide them with resources
  • To offer and further programs that lead youth to an understanding of God and their role as disciples of Jesus Christ in the world
  • To advocate for youth and their adult leaders to the parishes and the communities in which they exist
