Archbishop Gustavo issues statement concerning unaccompanied minors humanitarian crisis.

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller has spoken, preached, and written many times on the issues surounding the broken immigration system in our country and most recently the tragic humanitarian crisis that continues to effect literally thousands of children who are refugees from South and Central America.

As the public debate intensifies and time runs short for this Congress to determin the future of these children in compassionate and just terms, Archbishop Gustavo has published and distributed his official statement on the matter.

Archbishop invites parishes to give to the unaccompanied children from their heart.

In his recent statement concerning the Humanitarian Crisis stemming from the recent surge of unaccompanied minors into the United States, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller said, “These immigrants are people like ourselves, not mere problems or statistics or irritants.  They are our sisters and brothers.  Let us embrace them with traditional American compassion.”

In that spirit, Archbishop Gustavo is inviting all parishes and missions in the Archdiocese of San Antonio to give from their hearts to provide aid and financial assistance where the need is the greatest.
