Office of Christian Initiation

Special Message from Archbishop Gustavo-García-Siller

“The Archdiocesan Office of Christian Initiation has the important responsibility to serve and assist clergy, religious and lay leaders alike who faithfully dedicate themselves to the implementation of Christian Initiation for both adults and children of catechetical age. During my many pastoral visits throughout the Archdiocese I have come to experience the immense fruit of faith, hope and charity that I have been able to personally witness, particularly in the celebrations of the Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion. My prayer is for the continued collaborative pastoral effort, sustained by prayer, in offering the people of the Archdiocese our finest efforts serving the ministry of Christian Initiation.”

Mission Statement

The Archdiocesan Office of Christian Initiation promotes and supports parishes in their holistic implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and for Children of Catechetical Age as mandated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. In conjunction with the Archdiocesan Christian Initiation Committee our office provides a wide variety of pastoral services intended to equip and facilitate parish RCIA leaders and teams as they fulfill the Church’s mission to make disciples and advance the Kingdom of God in every parish community.
